Get to know UC Riverside and all the things that make us Unique, Committed, Real during the High School Counselor Virtual Summit.
This half-day event is designed especially for high school counselors. Learn about UCR’s admission process and all of the resources and programs created specifically to support students like yours!

9–9:10 a.m. – Welcome

Hear from Emily Engelschall, Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services and Director of Undergraduate Admissions, as she welcomes you to UCR!

9:10–9:20 a.m. – Keynote With Dr. Louie Rodriguez
Location: Zoom Main Room
Learn why UCR is the best fit for your students! Dr. Rodriguez, Interim Dean of the Graduate School of Education, shares the quality of education students can expect from UCR and how they will be welcomed by our friendly and diverse campus community.

9:20–9:50 a.m. – Freshman Admission Presentation
Location: Zoom Main Room
Discover what students need to become UCR Highlanders. Topics include academic requirements, dates and deadlines, and helpful application resources.

9:50–10:30 a.m. – Financial Aid Presentation
Location: Zoom Main Room
Learn how affordable a UC degree can be with grants, scholarships, work-study, and loans.

10:30–11 a.m. – Breakout Sessions
Location: Zoom Breakout Rooms
Select one (1) presentation to attend via Zoom:
- Intro to the UCR School of Medicine (SOM) – Get to know how the SOM prepares students with diverse intellectual and life experiences to care for diverse populations in our communities.
- Ethnic & Gender Programs – Learn how UCR actively creates a campus climate of mutual respect and how we ensure that everyone is represented and supported.
- Freshman Student Panel – Hear about the UCR student experience and why our panelists love being Highlanders!
- Intro to the UCR School of Medicine (SOM) – Get to know how the SOM prepares students with diverse intellectual and life experiences to care for diverse populations in our communities.

11–11:45 a.m. – College Roundtables
Location: Zoom Breakout Rooms
Select the three (3) colleges you wish to explore during three, back-to-back, 15-minute meetings. One college per Zoom meeting. At least one academic advisor and one transfer student will be available at each roundtable.
- Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering (BCOE) – Among the top 50 public engineering colleges in the nation (U.S. News & World Report, 2020). Ten majors include computer science, data science, and environmental engineering.
- College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS) – UCR's Largest College with 10,000+ students, 300+ faculty members, and 60+ majors including creative writing, psychology, and theatre, film, and digital production.
- College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS) – Award-winning faculty includes two Nobel Laureates (chemistry and physics). Seventeen majors include entomology, neuroscience, and statistics.
- Graduate School of Education (GSOE) – Offers the education, society, and human development major, two concentrations, and two minors. The new athletic leadership minor is the first athletics-based undergraduate academic program for UCR and the UC system!
- School of Business – Among the top 10% for business administration in the nation and No. 8 in California (College Factual’s 2020 Best Colleges for Business Administration & Management). Seven concentrations include finance, information systems, and marketing.
- School of Public Policy (SPP) – Offers the only undergraduate degree in public policy in the UC system! Six policy tracks include health/population, policy institutions and processes, and social/cultural/family.
