UC campuses will not consider SAT or ACT scores for the foreseeable future when making admissions decisions or awarding scholarships, the UC Board of Regents confirmed at its November meeting. The standardized testing requirement for first-year applicants was originally suspended for the 10-campus system, which includes UC Riverside, in May 2020 for all applicants through fall 2024.

High school students applying for admission to UC Riverside and other UC campuses are no longer required to submit their SAT or ACT scores. If an applicant chooses to submit test scores as part of their application, the scores may be used as an alternative method of fulfilling minimum requirements for eligibility or for course placement after the applicant enrolls. More information on the updated requirement can be found on the UC website.
