Next Thursday, Undergraduate Admissions is welcoming two special groups of transfer students to celebrate their admission to UCR. The Puente and Umoja Admitted Student Celebration: Vibe with Your Tribe at R'Side is an exclusive online event for students who are part of the Puente or Umoja programs at their community colleges.

"This special admitted student celebration is planned just for our Puente and Umoja students at UCR," says Allura Davis, Community Engagement and Outreach (CEO) admissions counselor and Umoja coordinator. "We have created this event on a better platform than Zoom to give you the opportunity to Vibe with your Tribe, make connections with other transfer students and transfer resources to better your experience and community once you enroll."

At the event, hosted on the Hopin platform, admitted students will learn about financial aid and campus resources, have their questions answered by admissions counselors, hear from current UCR students, and connect with other admitted students.

"UCR Puente and Umoja Vibe with Your Tribe is an opportunity to celebrate your awesome accomplishment of transferring," says Jessica Verazas, assistant director of transfer recruitment and evaluation. "Not only do you get to celebrate and learn about transfer resources at UCR, it’s also a way to connect with other Puentistas and Umoja students like you."

Visit admissions.ucr.edu/vibe to check out the agenda and register for the celebration. You will need to set up a Hopin account and complete a separate Hopin registration before the event starts next Thursday, April 29 at 3 p.m.
